Sophia Oh Kim김서연

Currently a 7th grader at Dubai American Academy, Sophia is a student artist who has loved drawing and creating from an early age. She especially enjoys graffiti, calligraphy, and animation characters, and loves experimenting with different styles to express her ideas and imagination. Her passion and talent for art led to her acceptance into the prestigious gifted art program at Seoul National University of Education (서울교육대학교 미술영재교육원) in South Korea.

Creativity is a big part of Sophia’s life beyond the canvas as well. She loves listening to music, especially BTS, and enjoys K-pop dancing. Art, music, and dance all inspire her and give her different ways to express who she is.

As the founding artist of SOA — Support Our Artists, Sophia wants to raise awareness of young artists and help give them a voice. She believes young artists should have more opportunities for their ideas and creativity to be seen, heard, and appreciated.

Through SOA, she hopes to motivate other young artists to believe in themselves, confidently share their work, and discover their own unique creative voices. By bringing original artwork beyond the canvas and onto pieces people can wear, carry, and enjoy, Sophia hopes SOA can build a community that celebrates and supports the next generation of artists.

현재 Dubai American Academy 7학년에 재학 중인 Sophia Oh Kim(김서연)은 어린 시절부터 그림을 그리고 무언가를 창작하는 것을 좋아해 온 학생 아티스트입니다. 특히 그래피티, 캘리그래피, 애니메이션 캐릭터에 관심이 많으며, 자신의 생각과 상상력을 표현하기 위해 다양한 스타일을 자유롭게 시도하는 것을 즐깁니다. 이러한 미술에 대한 열정과 재능을 인정받아 서울교육대학교 미술영재교육원에 선발되어 미술적 역량을 더욱 발전시키고 있습니다.

Sophia에게 창의성은 캔버스 안에만 머무르지 않습니다. 음악을 좋아하고 특히 BTS와 K-pop을 즐겨 들으며, K-pop 댄스 역시 그녀가 자신을 표현하는 또 하나의 방법입니다. 미술과 음악, 춤은 서로 다른 방식으로 Sophia에게 영감을 주며 그녀만의 창의적인 세계를 만들어가고 있습니다.

SOA — Support Our Artists의 Founding Artist로서 Sophia는 자신과 같은 젊은 아티스트들의 작품이 더 많은 사람들에게 알려지고, 그들의 목소리가 세상에 닿을 수 있기를 바랍니다. 어린 아티스트들에게도 자신의 아이디어와 창의성을 세상에 보여주고 인정받을 수 있는 기회가 더 많이 주어져야 한다고 믿습니다.

Sophia는 SOA를 통해 다른 젊은 아티스트들이 자신의 재능을 믿고, 자신 있게 작품을 세상과 나누며, 각자만의 독창적인 예술적 목소리를 발견할 수 있도록 용기를 주고 싶어 합니다. 또한 캔버스 위의 작품을 사람들이 직접 입고, 들고, 일상에서 즐길 수 있는 다양한 형태로 확장함으로써, SOA가 다음 세대의 아티스트를 발견하고 함께 응원하는 커뮤니티로 성장하기를 꿈꿉니다.
